Warm and sweet like winter chestnuts, Chestnut Shadow will give a beautiful warm, medium reddish brown on grey, light blonde and dark blonde hair and will add a beautiful rich warm glow to light brown, medium brown and even dark brown hair. This colour is ideal for people with naturally brown or red hair. It has strong red tones.
*this colour will not lighten the hair as it contains no bleach or peroxide.

Me Time required
Organic hair colours need time to deposit colour on your hair. Please allow the following amount of time for your colour treatment.
Non Grey coverage : 1 hr
Grey coverage : 2 to 3 hrs
Amount of product required
Short hair & root touch ups - 1/2 pack
Medium hair - 1 pack
Long hair - 1 to 1.5 packs
Super long hair - 2 to 3 packs
Thick hair - will need to add an extra 1/4 pack for short hair and 1/2 (short to medium) to 3/4 pack (for long hair)
*Please note - repeated use will see your colour become richer and in some cases darker. Once you achieve the colour shade you like on the lengths, simply apply to the roots only and do a full application every 4th or 5th time to boost the colour at the ends. This will save time and product and ensure you have an even colour all over.

Important
*We recommend a strand test to determine desired processing time and final colour result. Colour resistant hair will require the longer period for processing time. Not recommended for people who wish to bleach or lighten their hair blonde in the future. Strand test instructions can be found here

Liquid measurement for mixing
STEP 1 = 120ml diluted apple cider vinegar (30% ACV to 70% H2O or herbal tea).
STEP 2 = 130ml warm water
20 to 50ml additional warm water (only if required)

Desert Shadow Hair Colours
I've been colouring my hair with Desert Shadow colours ever since I had a severe reaction to chemical colours. I did a lot of research to find a product I was happy to try & I'm so glad I did. Love all the colours
I've been colouring my hair with Shadow Desert colours for eight years and absolutely love it. It covers well grey hair, and it's so easy to transition from one colour to another. I can't recommend it enough.

Beautiful product
What a divine product! The warm colour is so beautiful and natural looking. I applied my henna on dirty blonde hair for 1 hour and it transformed into a warm chestnut spice brown. I had bleached highlights in my hair too and the henna worked perfectly over them. So happy and will definitely use this again. It also hydrated my hair so well.

Chestnut shadow is so good for my hair
I lo e this product. It not only has great coverage for grey hair, but it has also helped my hair to be the healthiest it's ever been. It's soft and shiny and doesn't have any fly away anymore. Despite the length of time it takes to do it all, it's worth the time.

Chestnut Shadow colour
Love this product! Very natural looking colour. My hair is a light brown and final colour after process is a rich dark brown. Excellent even coverage. Only slight downside is the smell however I need to experiment more with herbal teas. Colour hair a week before special event so the smell is gone completely. Would highly recommend these products.

Chestnut Shadow
I'm a natural red head going grey. I wasn't sure which shade of hair dye to choose so chose this one and it's perfect for me. It's just enough red to lift my face. It covers the grey very well. I have used brown hair dye for years that I purchased from a health food store but changed to this product for it's natural ingredients. My daughter applies the dye for me and I have no problem wrapping my hair up for 3 hours. I wear green glasses against my red hair and it looks great. Dianne B.
